GCM Survey 2009

THE WORLD'S 2,000 LARGEST ORGANISATIONS...

The survey represents the most senior financial management of the world's 2,000 largest organisations in terms of sales, recent capital raising activity or Tier 1 Capital (as defined below). Within these organisations the CFO (most senior individual responsible for finance) and Treasurer were included. In the very largest organisations the Head of International Finance was also included.

A list of the world's largest organisations was compiled specifically for the Global Capital Markets survey drawing on a number of independent sources. Organisations were included if they met at least one of the following criteria:

The survey represents a total of 2,000 CFOs (one per organisation) and 1,754 Treasurers/Heads of International Finance (due to the fact that in some organisations the role of CFO and Treasurer were combined, or there may not have been a Head of International Funding).

...IN 33 COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE

The geographical coverage of the survey has expanded over the series. The 33 countries listed in the chart represent 86% of global GDP.

The UAE and Malaysia were added to the latest survey (Brazil, China, India, Russia, Mexico, South Africa, Finland, Ireland and Portugal having been included for the first time in 2006).
